Clarifications on fraudulent job vacancies

This is an important notice on fraudulent communications that have been made to members of the public which are purported to be on behalf of Companies within the Shell Group ('Shell').

It has been brought to our attention of job vacancies on a mailing list. Please note that these communications are fraudulent. They do not originate from Shell nor are they associated with Shell's recruitment process.

Salient points of such communications are that they come from non-Shell e-mail addresses (e.g. from a yahoo.com address - shell_recruitment2010@yahoo.com); the use of English is poor; at some stage, money is requested. In addition to this, the job vacancies mentioned were out-dated (from 2008) and are currently no longer available.

If you receive an unsolicited e-mail message or phone call that purports to be from Shell and requests that you send personal information or click links, delete the e-mail or hang up the phone. We do not send unsolicited e-mail or make unsolicited phone calls to request personal or financial information. If you think you might be a victim of fraud, you can report to your local police and provide them with all information you may have from the senders (email addresses, phone/fax details, etc.).

Please note that Shell (nor any of the organisations that recruit on our behalf) never ask for any money or payments from applicants, at any point in the recruitment process. All individuals who are successful in gaining an offer of employment from Shell, whether directly or indirectly, are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. All vacancies available are posted in www.shell.com/careers

Shell is not responsible for any datas/usage of datas already submitted by people to the fraudulent non-Shell email addresses.
