We have been recently inundated with queries regarding people receiving propositions (SMS or emails) made to individuals in Indonesia, by some people claiming to work for, or affiliated to Shell.
The propositions come in different guises (such as Shell International Mobile Draw, Shell Lottery Promo/Promotion, Shell Petroleum Company, Shell Promo International, Shell Petroleum Development Company of England, etc), including stating that the individual has won certain amount of money and requiring them to send an email to an email address and give personal information such as scanned identity card and consequently your bank accounts.
This is a hoax/scam and not a legitimate Shell program.
Please note that Shell would never ask customers/individuals for money to collect a prize. These sms or emails using Shell’s name should be treated as part of a fraud and deleted immediately.
