Pakar Shell Bitumen (aspal) sosialisasikan informasi terbaru teknologi Bitumen di Indonesia

Jakarta, 29 September 2015 – General Manager Shell Bitumen Technology Profesor John Read berkunjung ke Indonesia untuk mempresentasikan informasi terbaru mengenai teknologi aspal kepada para pemangku kepentingan/pengambil kebijakan, termasuk pejabat Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum, Angkasa Pura II, otoritas penerbangan dan para kontraktor di Indonesia. Informasi ini merupakan bagian dari edisi terbaru Shell Bitumen Handbook, Sixth Edition, yang diterbitkan pada bulan Februari 2015 lalu.

“Saya senang mendapat kesempatan untuk berbagi informasi terbaru mengenai teknologi aspal kepada para stakeholders uatama kami di Indonesia. Kami yakin mereka akan mendapatkan manfaat dari informasi terbaru ini, seiring dengan kegiatan pembangunan infrastruktur di Indonesia yang kini menjadi fenomena,” ucap John yang memimpin tim ahli Shell Bitumen dalam memperbarui buku panduan.

Komitmen Shell dalam riset dan pengembangan telah memungkinkan Shell menghasilkan berbagai hal terbaik bagi industri aspal seperti bahan perekat berwarna, larutan bertemperatur rendah, aspal dan perekat bawah air. Kini, Shell memiliki 49 hak paten untuk teknologi aspal.

Shell Bitumen adalah produsen aspal terbesar di dunia dan bereputasi dalam mendukung beragam proyek infrastruktur utama di Indonesia. Didirikan di Indonesia tahun 2008, Shell Bitumen telah menjadi pemasok produk aspal berkualitas tinggi, terutama untuk jalan raya dan lintasan bandara. Aspal yang dikirim langsung dari pabrik Shell Pulau Bukom di Singapura disimpan di berbagai gudang penyimpanan strategis di seluruh Indonesia, seperti Merak, untuk konsumen di Jawa Barat dan Jawa Tengah. Shell Bitumen juga telah membangun jaringan 15 depot besar dengan pihak ketiga, termasuk di Jawa, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Sumatra dan Nusa Tenggara. Konsumen juga didukung oleh para ahli teknis di Indonesia, dan di satu dari tiga Shell Bitumen Regional Technical Center yang berlokasi di Bangkok, Thailand.

Produk Shell Bitumen telah banyak digunakan di berbagai proyek di seluruh dunia, termasuk di sirkuit F1 yang menjadi ikon di Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Jerman (Hockenheim dan Nurburgring), Malaysia, sirkuit Singapura dan lintasan uji balap milik Ferrari di Fiorano, Italia. Sementara itu, produk Shell Bitumen untuk bandara telah digunakan di 8 dari 10 bandara terbaik di dunia1, termasuk proyek ambisius 80 hari rehabilitasi lintasan Bandara Internasional Dubai pada tahun 2014.

Di Indonesia, produk Shell Bitumen telah banyak digunakan di berbagai proyek infrastruktur utama, seperti jalan tol Jakarta-Cikampek, Purbaleunyi, Surabaya-Mojokerto dan Semarang-Solo.
