Engineer - India
[Abhilasha]
I was born in India.
Close-up footage of Abhilasha speaking into the camera, seen against the background of an office interior.
[Abhilasha]
Life decisions, the choices, everything is controlled by the family.
We see wide-angle footage, cutting to a close-up, of Abhilasha seated with a laptop on a window ledge in a modern office, looking out the window at the cityscape below. This cuts to a bird’s eye view of the view below, seen through the window, where we see people moving about a courtyard in the business complex. Next, we see wide-angle footage of multiple levels of glass-fronted offices in adjacent office towers.
[Abhilasha]
My grandfather, grandmother, or my parents were not a part of this mindset. They never put any restrictions on my dressing, on my talking, on my education.
Panning aerial footage of city streets and buildings in India. A series of still shots of Abhilasha posing for the camera with various family members successively transition into and out of frame.
[Abhilasha]
My family allowed me to dream, to make them proud. That’s a constant goal throughout whatever I do.
Close-up footage of Abhilasha speaking into the camera, as before. Extreme wide-angle footage of Abhilasha striding across a paved area in a busy business district towards a flight of stairs. We cut back to Abhilasha speaking into the camera, and then back to the footage of her walking in the business district, this time shown in close-up.
[Abhilasha]
Electricity was the major issue in my childhood, and it is still an issue there.
Close-up of the flame burning on a tin-and-wick lamp; in the dim background, someone turns the pages of a book. Low-angle footage of a flickering lightbulb in a fitting fixed to a roughly-built wall in an otherwise dark room.
[Abhilasha]
When I joined Shell, that’s when I realized, it is putting in so much effort to invest in new technologies.
High-angle still shot of a group of Shell employees smiling up at the camera, Abhilasha standing in the middle of the group. Close-up footage of Abhilasha speaking into the camera, as before. Low-angle footage of graphics and data displayed on a screen.
[Abhilasha]
I think Shell is providing society the reliable and affordable access to energy, because its prime focus is people.
Slow-motion low-angle footage of an Indian woman walking past a bank of solar panels beneath a bright blue sky, moving in the direction of frame-left; the woman is wearing a sari and carrying a pot on her head. Low-angle footage of men erecting a solar panel on top of a wall in a rural setting where we see livestock grazing and a young boy standing at frame-right, looking on. Low-angle close-up footage of a young man screwing a lightbulb into an electrical fitting suspended from a tin roof. Tilting wide-angle view of two Shell workers wearing full safety gear standing together in front of a large industrial plant as they talk. Wide low-angle footage of a work team, wearing full safety gear, engaged in discussion on a work site; in the background, we see drilling equipment and green vegetation below a cloudy sky. Slow-motion footage of a group of Shell employees waving into the camera as it pans across the group, who are mostly wearing red coveralls and yellow Shell-branded safety helmets.
[Abhilasha]
It’s a very people-centric company, and to be working in a company which genuinely cares for you is a big thing for me.
Close-up footage of Abhilasha speaking into the camera, as before. Medium footage of Abhilasha and colleagues seated together in reception-style chairs in an open office environment, engaged in discussion.
