How did you arrive at Shell?

Mansi: I joined Shell about six years back as Cluster Marketing Manager after working for 17 years with Procter & Gamble. My previous roles include time spent in marketing, strategy, consumer insights, and sales across different business models and channels. I’ve also worked in India, Singapore, US, and Malaysia in global, regional, and local roles.

For personal reasons, I had to move from the US to India and that’s when I joined Shell – I wanted to test myself in a new industry and build new business-to-business skills.

What type of people do you work with in your team?

Mansi: It’s really diverse. Each individual adds their unique personality in terms of demographics, culture, education, skill sets, and experience. It’s a truly enriching experience.

Why should people join Shell India?

Mansi: Shell is a fantastic company to work for. Why? Because it really is driven by its core principles and value-based decisions.

It is people focused. There’s an agenda of personal growth where you can be yourself without worrying about being judged; you know your needs as an individual will be appreciated and accommodated.

There’s also a lifetime of opportunities here: to learn, contribute, and grow. There’s such a wide mix of structured programs, coaching and on the job training, to go with the variety of roles and locations.

There’s the pride that comes with our purpose. We actively look to make sure we have a positive impact on individuals and communities.

And last, but not least, our operations in India are growing and it is exciting to be part of a team that’s investing, expanding and winning.

What kind of career path can you follow?

Mansi: The best part of being at Shell is that you don’t have to follow any set career path. You create your own. You just need to know what you want from your career. With Shell’s diverse business operations, geographic footprint, required skills, and different business models, there’s always a way to follow your ambitions.

Why do people stay at Shell?

Mansi: People stay at Shell because the business takes care of them. Everyone I’ve met will at least have one story to share about how Shell supported their personal needs and went out of the way to help. It’s Shell’s philosophy ‘to care’. So, it’s no surprise that employee engagement scores are high.

What would you say to someone considering a career at Shell?

Mansi: It’s a place where you’re developed holistically and cared for as an individual. You won’t just improve in a few technical areas of your job; but develop into a better professional, a better leader and a better person.
